Duties

• Assist with animal handling, restraint, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures
• Support veterinary technicians with tasks such as IV insertion, medication administration, animal catheterization, and surgical assistance
• Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing thorough cleaning, sanitation, and equipment sterilization in accordance with veterinary standards
• Manage record keeping including updating patient charts, treatment logs, and medication records accurately
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, appointment scheduling, and follow-up care
• Handle front desk responsibilities such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing client check-ins
• Support animal husbandry practices including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animal behavior for signs of distress or illness

Qualifications

• Previous kennel experience or hands-on animal handling experience preferred
• Veterinary clinic or veterinary technician experience highly desirable
• Strong skills in animal restraint, pet care, and client communication essential for success in this role
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Commitment to animal welfare and safety using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 40.0 per week
