Duties

• Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, surgeries, and procedures
• Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during exams and procedures
• Perform animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning enclosures, grooming, and maintaining a clean clinic environment
• Support with medication administration, IV insertions, catheterizations, and other veterinary procedures under supervision
• Manage record keeping accurately by documenting treatments, medications, patient histories, and clinic notes
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, post-operative care, and general inquiries
• Maintain a clean and organized clinic by disinfecting equipment, cleaning kennels, and adhering to PPE (personal protective equipment) protocols to ensure safety for staff and animals

Skills

• Prior kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience demonstrating familiarity with animal handling and husbandry
• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and animal behavior to assist in clinical tasks
• Experience with dog handling, equine care or other specialized animal handling skills is a plus
• Proficiency in record keeping, medication administration, and understanding of surgical procedures
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients while demonstrating empathy and professionalism
• Capable of working efficiently in a team environment while managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Commitment to animal welfare through attentive care, proper restraint techniques, and adherence to safety protocols including PPE use

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 – 36.0 per week
