Responsibilities

• Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations and procedures
• Support veterinary technicians with medication administration, sample collection, and laboratory testing
• Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques in treatment areas to prevent infection and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Help with front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, managing client communications, and updating medical records
• Assist with animal husbandry tasks including cleaning kennels, cages, and treatment areas to uphold hygiene standards
• Support emergency critical care efforts by preparing equipment and assisting during urgent procedures

Qualifications

• Previous kennel experience or animal husbandry background required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and basic pet care practices
• Experience with animal restraint techniques, medication administration, and laboratory procedures is highly desirable
• Strong animal handling skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced situations
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members professionally
• Prior veterinary assistant or clinic experience is a plus; certification in veterinary assisting is advantageous but not mandatory

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
