Veterinary Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Veterinary Assistant to join our high volume veterinary practice. The ideal candidate will support veterinarians and technicians by providing compassionate care to our animal patients and excellent service to their owners. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to handle dogs and cats gently and competently, and previous experience in a veterinary setting. The Veterinary Assistant will assist with animal restraint, prepare examination rooms, and help maintain a clean and organized environment. A team-oriented attitude, good organizational skills, and a desire to serve both clients and pets are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations and procedures.
Handle animals gently and safely to ensure their comfort.
Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain cleanliness.
Support client communication by providing information and answering basic questions.
Help with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments or updating records.
Ensure the well-being of animals in the clinic by monitoring their condition.
Maintain inventory of supplies and notify staff of needs.
Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with staff.

Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic is required.
Excellent communication skills are essential.
Ability to handle dogs and cats with care and confidence.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Team-oriented mindset with a desire to provide excellent customer service.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer skills for record keeping and communication.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
