Veterinary Assistant / Kennel Technician

Cornerstone Animal Hospital is looking for a compassionate, hardworking team member to join our hospital in a hybrid role that combines veterinary kennel assistant duties with hands-on veterinary assistant responsibilities. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys caring for pets, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is interested in building a career in veterinary medicine. No veterinary experience is required for the right candidate. We are willing to train motivated individuals who are eager to learn and grow into a veterinary assistant role.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide daily care, feeding, and cleaning for hospitalized and boarding pets
• Walk, exercise, and monitor patients for comfort and well-being
• Restrain patients safely for examinations and treatments
• Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments and procedures
• Prepare exam rooms and medical supplies
• Help with patient treatments, medication administration, and diagnostic procedures
• Support client service and patient care throughout the hospital

Schedule and Compensation:

• Compensation: $15-$17 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is afull-time position, with availability needed Monday-Friday and rotating weekends. Schedules are: 3 weekdays (10-hour shifts), rotating Saturdays (7-hour shifts), and rotating Sunday treatments for boarding patients (am & pm).

Your Qualifications:

• 1+ of experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician preferred
  • Will consider related experience within animal care such as boarding / doggy daycare attendant, FFA or 4H background
• A genuine passion for animal care and patient wellbeing
• Confidence working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Ability to safely handle, restrain, walk, and monitor animals under supervision
  • Strong awareness of animal behavior and willingness to learn patient safety and handling techniques
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
• A positive, team-oriented attitude
• Physical ability to meet the demands of a hands-on animal care role
• Interest in learning and growing within the veterinary profession
