Job Summary
Join Our Team!
We’re a two-doctor, walk-in canine and feline veterinary hospital looking for an experienced, dependable, and team-oriented Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join us!
Our days are busy, varied, and sometimes unpredictable, with everything from routine wellness visits to urgent concerns and worried pet owners. We’re looking for someone who can stay calm under pressure, communicate with compassion, and help create a positive experience for our patients, clients, and team.
We’re looking for someone with a solid foundation in veterinary care who enjoys a varied role in a busy general practice. From patient intake and client communication to assisting with clinical care, there are opportunities to contribute your existing skills, learn our systems and workflows, and take on additional responsibilities as your experience and abilities grow. We’re happy to train the right person and support continued professional development, but a basic foundation in veterinary care is essential.
What We're Looking For
- At least 1 year of veterinary or related animal-care experience.
- Confident, safe handling of dogs and cats.
- Ability to obtain accurate patient histories and recognize important patient concerns.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, professional approach to client education.
- Basic understanding of preventive care, vaccination protocols, and parasite prevention and treatment.
- Ability to adapt, multitask, and work well in a fast-paced, sometimes emotional environment.
- Reliability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
Additional clinical experience is a plus, including:
- Blood draws and sample collection.
- In-house diagnostics and laboratory equipment.
- Cytology slide preparation.
- Basic knowledge of common diagnostic tests and preventive health recommendations.
Schedule & Opportunities
- Monday: 9:00 AM–7:30 PM
- Tuesday: 12:00 PM–7:30 PM
- Part-time, approximately 15–20 hours per week.
- Opportunities for additional training, clinical skill development, and advancement based on demonstrated skills and performance.
- Potential for full-time employment in the future, depending on business needs, performance, and availability.
If you enjoy working with animals and people, thrive in a team environment, and want to continue building your veterinary skills, we’d love to hear from you!
Please submit your resume and tell us a little about your veterinary experience.
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
