Veterinary Lab Technician

Location: 253, Jalan Sentosa 41, Taman Bunga Melor, 41050 Klang, Selangor (Lian Animal Clinic)

About the role

Conduct laboratory tests and procedures in accordance with established protocols and procedures, including but not limited to blood analysis, urine analysis, faecal analysis, cytology, and microbiology. Prepare and analyse samples for diagnostic purposes, interpreting results and reporting findings to the veterinarian.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests and procedures in accordance with established protocols and procedures, including but not limited to blood analysis, urine analysis, faecal analysis, cytology, and microbiology
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring proper function, cleanliness, and availability for use
• Prepare and analyse samples for diagnostic purposes, interpreting results and reporting findings to the veterinarian
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory results and procedures performed, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to keep up to date with new laboratory techniques and procedures
• Assist in other clinic duties as needed, such as patient care, inventory management, and client communication

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Animal Science or related field
• Experience in a veterinary laboratory setting is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment, techniques, and procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
• Able to speak in Mandarin
