Veterinary Nurses

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong background in veterinary practices. As a Veterinary Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our patients, assisting veterinarians in various procedures, and ensuring the well-being of animals in our facility.

Duties

• Provide nursing care to animals, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Assist in surgical procedures, including preparation and monitoring of anesthesia.
• Perform laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging such as X-rays.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
• Conduct routine examinations and assist with dental cleanings, utilizing knowledge of dental terminology.
• Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry, nutrition, and post-operative care.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Support the veterinary team with kennel duties, including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician experience or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology.
• Experience in animal handling and restraint techniques is essential.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment is a plus.
• Experience with equine care or dog training is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
