Our ideal candidate is a confident and approachable leader who can balance the needs of the business, employees, and clients while maintaining a professional, supportive, and efficient workplace.

Previous veterinary experience is a plus, but not required! We value strong leadership, excellent communication, sound judgment, and the ability to successfully manage a team. Candidates with management experience in other customer service related fields are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Be Doing

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of veterinary professionals while fostering a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.
  • Oversee daily staff scheduling, ensuring appropriate coverage and efficient hospital operations.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train support staff.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback to help employees develop their skills and reach their potential.
  • Establish clear expectations, hold employees accountable, and address performance or conduct concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct employee evaluations and make recommendations regarding staffing, scheduling, advancement, and other personnel decisions.
  • Encourage teamwork, open communication, and collaboration between veterinarians, support staff, and management.

Hospital Operations & Administration

  • Oversee all aspects of daily hospital operations to ensure the practice runs efficiently and effectively.
  • Identify operational challenges, proactively resolve problems, and implement improvements to workflow and productivity.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and help maintain an organized, efficient patient flow.
  • Ensure hospital policies, procedures, and standards are consistently communicated and followed.
  • Oversee the accuracy, organization, and maintenance of patient medical records and administrative documentation.
  • Coordinate employee information and necessary documentation with Human Resources.
  • Monitor inventory management, purchasing, and expenses while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and control costs.
  • Ensure daily financial transactions, deposits, and other administrative responsibilities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming hospital environment, coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed.

Client Experience & Communication

  • Promote exceptional customer service and ensure clients and their pets have a positive experience throughout their visit.
  • Address client questions, concerns, and complaints with professionalism, empathy, and a solution-oriented approach.
  • Effectively communicate hospital policies, services, scheduling procedures, and expectations to clients and employees.
  • Support the veterinary team during challenging or emotionally sensitive situations while maintaining a calm and compassionate environment.
  • Build positive relationships with clients and staff while maintaining professional boundaries and consistent standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous management or supervisory experience with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to navigate difficult conversations and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • A proactive, self-motivated individual who takes initiative and can make sound decisions independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
  • A hands-on leadership style with a willingness to step in, assist the team, and lead by example.
  • The ability to set clear expectations, delegate responsibilities, and hold team members accountable.
  • A positive, professional attitude with the flexibility to adapt to changing needs and unexpected challenges.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Emotional resilience and composure when handling stressful situations, difficult client interactions, or sensitive patient circumstances.
  • A genuine commitment to providing excellent service and supporting a compassionate, team-oriented workplace.
  • Veterinary or animal healthcare experience is preferred, but not required.
