Part time Veterinary Receptionist – The Village Veterinary Surgery, Hatfield Garden Village

We're a friendly, independent family-run veterinary practice that has been caring for pets and their owners since 1985 — and we're looking for a warm, organised, and enthusiastic Veterinary Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our team.

What you'll be doing

As the first point of contact for our clients, you'll play a vital role in making every visit feel as stress-free as possible — for pets and owners alike. Day to day, this includes:

• Welcoming clients and their pets with a friendly, professional manner
• Managing appointment scheduling and keeping our diary running smoothly
• Handling phone and email enquiries about our services and pet care
• Maintaining accurate client and patient records on our practice management system
• Processing payments and billing with care and accuracy
• Supporting our clinical team with basic laboratory preparation tasks when needed
• Keeping the reception and waiting areas clean, tidy, and inviting
• Sharing relevant pet care and wellness information with clients

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is a real advantage
• A confident, warm communicator who can put nervous clients at ease
• Strong organisational skills and a cool head when things get busy
• Comfortable using computer systems for scheduling and record keeping
• A genuine love of animals and the people who care for them

Hours

Part time, about 20 hours over 4 days, Monday to Friday with a shared rota for weekend cover.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.70-£13.00 per hour
