What they need
Pittwater Animal Hospital
Experienced Part-Time Receptionist / Client Care Consultant – Mature-Minded Professional Wanted
Pittwater Animal Hospital has served the Northern Beaches community for over 60 years.
Are you calm under pressure, confident in your communication, and genuinely enjoy helping people and their pets? Do you bring maturity, reliability, and warmth to every interaction? Then we’d love to hear from you.
Pittwater Animal Hospital is looking for a dedicated and experienced receptionist with excellent customer service skills and a welcoming, professional demeanour. This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a busy, team-oriented environment and brings a thoughtful, patient approach to client care.
With a loyal, trusting clientele and a supportive internal culture, our team of 8 vets and approximately 20 support staff take great pride in providing gold-standard care to our patients and friendly, honest service to their owners.
Key responsibilities include:
· Leading the front-of-house experience with confidence and compassion
· Managing communication across phone, email, and in person
· Supporting smooth client flow for consultations, procedures, and admissions
· Triaging cases and keeping clients informed about wait times
· Maintaining a calm, fear-free experience for patients
· Assisting with OTC product advice and prescription handovers
· Scheduling, billing, and reception administration
What we’re looking for:
· Previous receptionist experience (preferred but not essential)
· A mature-minded, solution-focused approach
· Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to connect with people
· High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
· Confidence in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
· A genuine love of animals and a commitment to their welfare
What we offer:
· Competitive salary, based on experience
· 24 hours/week with a rotating Saturday shift
· Ongoing professional development and mental health support
· A collaborative team and plenty of laughter
· Staff discounts and regular team events
If you’re the kind of person who takes pride in being a calm and capable presence at the front desk—and you’re ready to make a meaningful contribution to a passionate veterinary team—please apply by sending your resume and cover letter to our Practice Manager, Sarah Yelavic, at [email protected].
