Veterinary Receptionist

Palo Verde Animal Hospital is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Veterinary Receptionist to support our clients, patients, and veterinary team.

This position serves as an important point of contact for pet owners visiting or calling the hospital. The ideal candidate is comfortable communicating with clients, managing multiple priorities, scheduling appointments, maintaining accurate information, and working in a busy animal-care environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and their pets in a professional and welcoming manner
• Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to general client questions
• Schedule, confirm, and coordinate veterinary appointments
• Check clients and patients in and out of the hospital
• Collect and update client and patient information
• Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation
• Communicate appointment information and basic hospital policies to clients
• Route medical questions to the appropriate veterinarian or clinical team member
• Process payments and provide receipts and invoices
• Assist clients with obtaining previous medical records when necessary
• Coordinate communication between clients, veterinarians, and veterinary technicians
• Help manage the daily appointment schedule and patient flow
• Maintain an organized and professional reception area
• Assist with administrative and clerical duties as assigned
• Handle sensitive client and patient information appropriately
• Provide compassionate service to clients dealing with sick or injured pets
• Support other team members during busy periods

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Customer service, receptionist, administrative, or animal-care experience preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable communicating by telephone and in person
• Basic computer and data-entry skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to accurately enter and maintain information
• Comfortable working around dogs and cats
• Ability to remain professional and compassionate in stressful situations
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy environment
• Ability to work effectively as part of a veterinary team

Palo Verde Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital serving pets and families in Phoenix and the surrounding area. The hospital provides routine and more complex veterinary care and has in-house diagnostic capabilities, including laboratory testing, digital X-rays, and ultrasound.

Pay: $3,650.00 - $3,900.00 per month
