Veterinary Receptionist

In this vital role, you’ll combine excellent customer service with administrative support to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for clients and their pets. Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk with professionalism and enthusiasm
• Handle payments ensuring proper documentation and billing procedures are followed
• Maintaining multiple phone lines in a timely mater.
• Maintain accurate veterinary records using veterinary software and charts, including patient histories, treatment plans, and laboratory results
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, upcoming appointments, and follow-up needs
• Support veterinary staff & understand veterinary terminology
• Ensure compliance with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA guidelines during medication handling and record keeping

Requirements

• Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is a must, including familiarity with veterinary terminology and medical-surgical procedures
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners
• Knowledge of Avimark and Pet desk required & proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in animal restraint, dog handling, and general animal handling techniques
• Basic understanding of laboratory procedures, aseptic technique, and animal anatomy knowledge
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices, pet care standards, and regulatory compliance such as DEA and USDA regulations is a plus

Pay: $17.75 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 33.0 per week
