Love the pace of nights and want a proper hospital behind you? This role gives you both.

MedMatch Vets is recruiting an experienced Night Veterinary Surgeon for a purpose-built, 24/7 small animal hospital near Newcastle-under-Lyme. It's a teaching-focused hospital with an in-house referral team, modern theatres and advanced imaging. You'll have real clinical independence, with specialists on hand when you need them.

What's on offer

• £60,000–£85,000 depending on experience
• Four-day working week, with full-time and part-time roles available
• Time off in lieu for weekend work
• Varied caseload, from routine cases to referral-level orthopaedic and soft tissue work, with in-house referral support
• Advanced diagnostic imaging, modern surgical theatres and dedicated inpatient facilities
• Ongoing CPD, plus the chance to teach and mentor the next generation of vets
• A collaborative, multidisciplinary team where your input is valued

The role

• Consults, OOH diagnostic work-ups and surgery on a busy night caseload
• The hospital provides OOH cover for other local practices, so expect a high caseload and plenty of variety

About you

• An experienced small animal vet, ideally from a hospital or busy first-opinion practice
• Confident in surgery and in making independent clinical decisions from day one
• Emergency care experience desirable; a certificate is an advantage but not essential
• Please note this role isn't suitable for new graduates
