North Star Vets

Vet surgeon opportunity – Saturdays. Westbrook Vets, Warrington, Cheshire.
We're looking for an enthusiastic vet to join our exciting, independent, young practice, with the opportunity to come in and make a real impact.
This is a Saturday role – every Saturday, 9am-5pm. We're extending our Saturday opening hours in early 2027 and we need the right vet in place to make that happen, so we're aiming for a January start. If that timescale doesn't work for you, don't let it stop you getting in touch – we'd rather find the right person and be flexible about when they join us.
There's an element of sole charge to the role. You'll have a set team around you every week – one nurse and one receptionist – and other members of the Westbrook team will be in the practice with you from 9am until 1pm. After that you'll be the vet on site, so we're looking for someone experienced who is confident making their own clinical decisions.
You'll cover all clinical responsibilities across the day, surgery included, so a bit of a jack of all trades would suit this role perfectly.
Our practice is thriving and has grown considerably since we opened in 2022. We've made a real link with the Warrington community, as can be seen by our over 650 five star Google reviews.
You'll become the face of our Saturdays, so what we do want is a candidate who is dependable and trustworthy, capable of developing a good relationship with the local community and becoming a well known and trusted face for the practice.
To set you up for that, we'd like you to spend some time in the practice before you start – learning our systems and protocols, getting to know the team and seeing how we do things. We'll shape that around whatever your other commitments allow.
We're building a practice that is centred around what works for people. We pride ourselves on recognising that the definition of support can be very different depending on a person's situation, and we do everything we can to show flexibility in how we provide it.
That means one day a week comes with the same benefits the rest of our team enjoys, pro rata – and we outsource our out of hours work to protect everyone's work-life balance.
The relationships we build with our clients are very natural – and the reason for that is we care so much, and what we do is authentic. You can see from our Google reviews that this isn't just talk. We're really making an impact.
If this all sounds like it could be for you, we would love to hear from you!
And if you're interested in this role but would need support to take on more hours elsewhere, please get in touch with a chat and we'll see how we can make it work for the right candidate.
