Veterinary Surgeon

Our friendly 5 vet team is looking to recruit an additional small animal veterinary surgeon for our independent 3 site practice in West Berkshire. Our main branch at Tutts Clump is ideally situated between Reading and Newbury in a beautiful rural area, with branch surgeries in Pangbourne and Spencers Wood.

Our days generally consist of both consulting and operating, with a good mix of surgical and medical caseload. We have all the usual diagnostic toys that you would expect, including digital x-ray, new ultrasound machines and endoscopy. We have an equally shared Saturday morning rota, with Vets Now covering our overnight and remaining weekend out of hours.

At this point in time we are looking to welcome another experienced team member as we need to allocate enough time to support our younger vets. This means that some sole charge will be required within this position although help is always available if needed. We are happy to facilitate development of your interests and would support you in completing a certificate if desired, or there is potential to take charge of and develop one of our branch surgeries. CPD allowance is generous – if its going to be of benefit to the practice then we'll generally pay for it!

Either 4.5 or 4 day working week available – our rota is flexible so can be discussed to suit your requirements. Usual benefits apply – paid RCVS, BSAVA etc memberships, private health insurance.

Salary commensurate with experience: c45-65k but we are always open to discussion. Driving licence and own vehicle essential due to rural location. Please see our website www.valleyvet.co.uk for more information about the practice.
