Love animals? Love people? Thrive in a fast-paced environment? We might just be your people!

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, compassionate Veterinary Technician Assistant / Receptionist who can wear multiple hats, think on their feet, and bring positive energy to our team.
This is a dual-role position, meaning you’ll have the opportunity to work both behind the scenes with our medical team and up front helping our amazing clients.
If you love variety, enjoy learning, and want to be part of a team where your contributions genuinely matter, keep reading!

- Preparing surgical suites, instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assisting with surgical patient preparation and recovery under appropriate supervision.
- Monitoring patient comfort and communicating concerns promptly to medical staff.
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining examination rooms, kennels, treatment areas, and medical equipment.
- Providing compassionate care to hospitalized and boarding patients, including feeding, walking, and maintaining clean accommodations.
- Restocking medical supplies and helping maintain organized inventory.
- Assisting with medication preparation and dispensing only as directed and permitted by law.
- Following infection-control, animal-handling, and workplace safety protocols.
- Recognizing changes in patient behavior or condition and promptly alerting the veterinary team.
- Jumping in wherever needed to support patient care and your coworkers.
You won’t just be watching veterinary medicine happen. You’ll be an important part of the team that makes it happen!

Our front desk is the heartbeat of our hospital! We’re looking for someone who can make clients feel welcomed, heard, and appreciated while keeping things moving efficiently.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting clients and patients with professionalism, warmth, and enthusiasm.
- Managing patient check-ins and check-outs in our busy same-day care environment.
- Answering incoming calls and responding to client questions.
- Assisting clients with our online check-in process.
- Accurately entering and updating client and patient information.
- Maintaining thorough, accurate medical records.
- Communicating patient needs and concerns to the veterinary team.
- Processing payments, preparing invoices, and explaining charges.
- Handling prescription refill requests and routing them to the appropriate medical staff.
- Communicating approved medical recommendations and discharge instructions.
- Helping clients understand hospital policies, services, and procedures.
- Managing client communications, messages, and follow-up requests.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who brings more than just a résumé.
Our ideal candidate is:
- Dependable: Your teammates can count on you to show up, be prepared, and give your best.
- Compassionate: You genuinely care about animals and the people who love them.
- Positive: You bring good energy, even when the day gets a little crazy.
- A team player: You understand that no task is beneath you and everyone helps everyone.
- Organized: You can prioritize responsibilities and pay attention to the details.
- Adaptable: You can switch from answering phones to assisting with patient care without missing a beat.
- Professional: You communicate respectfully with clients, coworkers, and leadership.
- Eager to learn: You welcome feedback, ask questions, and want to improve.
- Emotionally resilient: You understand that veterinary medicine can involve emergencies, difficult conversations, and heartbreaking moments.
- Fun! Because while we take our medicine seriously, we absolutely believe in enjoying the people we work with.
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous veterinary hospital experience is preferred, but we’re willing to consider the right candidate with a great attitude and a strong willingness to learn.
- Veterinary assistant, animal care, or customer service experience is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn veterinary practice-management software.
- Ability to multitask in a busy, sometimes unpredictable environment.
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of veterinary work, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Willingness to assist with cleaning, laundry, kennels, and other daily hospital responsibilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and follow medical instructions and hospital protocols.
- Reliability, honesty, and attention to detail are absolutely essential.
Why Veterinary Medical Hospital?
Because where you work matters, and so do the people you work with.
We aren’t a corporate veterinary chain. We’re a locally owned hospital where the people behind the medicine matter just as much as the medicine itself.
We believe in recognizing hard work, celebrating our team, supporting one another, and creating a workplace where people can take pride in what they accomplish.
We have an amazing group of people who genuinely care about their patients, their clients, and each other.
We laugh together, learn together, tackle challenging days together, and celebrate the little victories that make veterinary medicine so rewarding.
We aren’t going to pretend every day is easy. Veterinary medicine is demanding, emotional, messy, unpredictable, and sometimes exhausting.
But it’s also incredibly rewarding, meaningful, and filled with moments that remind us why we do what we do.
And when you have the right team beside you? That makes all the difference.
