About Us

Giller Animal Hospital is looking for a dependable, motivated, and compassionate Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are seeking someone who enjoys working with animals, providing excellent patient care, and supporting our veterinary team in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Previous experience in the veterinary field is preferred. Candidates with surgical experience and familiarity with AVImark will be given additional consideration.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and patient care.
• Help prepare patients, equipment, and the surgical area for procedures.
• Assist with surgical procedures, monitoring, and post-operative patient care as trained and authorized.
• Safely handle and restrain animals during examinations and treatments.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes in their condition.
• Maintain clean, organized examination rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces.
• Assist with laboratory work, sample collection, and diagnostic procedures as trained.
• Multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and team members.
• Assist with daily hospital operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinic is preferred.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and surgical preparation is a plus.
• Familiarity with AVImark veterinary practice management software is a plus.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a busy environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Compassion for animals and a commitment to quality patient care.
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and contribute positively to the team.

Compensation

• $16.00–$19.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
