Veterinary Technician

Pleasantville Animal Hospital has been serving Pleasantville, Westchester County and the surrounding area for over 40 years. We are a full service A.A.H.A certified hospital caring for all furred, feathered and scaly pets’ needs. Our services include wellness and preventive medicine, exotic animal medicine and surgery, general and orthopedic surgery, laparoscopic procedures for domestic and exotic pets, bee and apiary medicine, in-house comprehensive laboratory diagnostics, dentistry, ultrasonography, and on site board certified cardiology, internal medicine and orthopedic consults and procedures.

We are a growing practice looking for a full or part time licensed veterinary technician or soon to be licensed to join our team!

Essential Job Duties:

• Receive, handle and treat patients with skill, compassion, and care including monitoring during anesthesia, administering fluids, assisting in diagnosing, surgery, and specialized nursing care.
• Input data into computer software system/patients file
• Ability to observe the animal appearance and activity for general physical condition, obvious signs of illness, disease, and discontent.
• Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals, equipment, and supplies.
• Placement of IV catheters of various veins
• Induction of anesthesia/endotracheal intubation
• Basic knowledge of calculations
• Perform professional dental cleanings/ dental radiographs
• Saturday availability and computer skills are a must.

**Saturday availability is a must. Pay rate based on experience.**

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
