Sarasota Veterinary Services is a privately owned, walk-in veterinary hospital serving the Sarasota community. We provide general care, urgent care, and emergency services in a fast-paced but supportive environment.

Because we operate as a walk-in hospital, every day is different and technicians gain hands-on experience with a wide variety of medical and surgical cases.

Schedule

Full-time position:

• Four weekdays + Saturday
• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

We also provide after-hours emergency care and overnight hospitalizations, which creates optional opportunities for additional shifts and overtime, but these hours are not required.

Pay

$18 – $30 per hour
Pay is based on experience, skill level, and credentials.

Responsibilities

Veterinary Technicians at Sarasota Veterinary Services play a critical role in patient care. Duties may include:

• Patient triage and intake
• Assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures
• Placing IV catheters and administering medications
• Performing laboratory diagnostics (bloodwork, cytology, fecals, etc.)
• Taking and positioning radiographs
• Monitoring anesthesia and recovering surgical patients
• Hospitalized patient care and treatment administration
• Client communication and education
• Maintaining accurate medical records

Because we are a walk-in hospital, technicians should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling urgent cases.

Qualifications

• Veterinary Technician experience preferred
• Credentialed technicians (CVT/LVT/RVT) encouraged but not required
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Compassionate and professional with clients and patients
