Veterinary Technician – Wellness & Spay/Neuter Clinics

Pay: $14.00–$17.00 per hour

Pawmetto Lifeline is looking for a compassionate and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Wellness Clinic & Spay/Neuter Clinic team!

We provide affordable, high-quality veterinary care to pets, pet owners, and rescue organizations throughout the Midlands. Our services include wellness exams, spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, bloodwork, heartworm treatments, dentals, and more.

What You’ll Do

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Safely restrain and handle dogs and cats.
• Prepare and administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian.
• Monitor patients and communicate changes in condition to the veterinary team.
• Prepare animals for surgery and provide post-operative care.
• Maintain clean, organized examination and treatment areas.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples.
• Perform laboratory testing as trained and directed.
• Assist with radiographs, dentistry, anesthesia, and surgical procedures based on experience and competency.
• Place IV catheters and assist with surgical preparation.
• Fill prescriptions, accurately measure medications, and label containers.
• Provide compassionate, professional care to every patient.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• 1–2 years of Vet Tech experience working in a veterinary clinic.
• Comfortable and confident handling and restraining animals.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work well as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred:

• Licensed or certified Veterinary Technician.
• Experience with spay/neuter surgery, anesthesia monitoring, dentistry, laboratory work, or radiology.
• Experience in a high-volume veterinary clinic.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on veterinary position. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods, frequently walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and safely lift or move up to 50 pounds.
