Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and diagnostic care with precision and confidence.
• Perform animal restraint using safe and effective techniques to facilitate examinations and treatments.
• Collect blood samples and administer medications accurately according to veterinary protocols.
• Operate medical equipment such as IDEXX blood machines
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment plans, medication instructions, and post-procedure care to foster trust and clarity.

Experience

• Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background demonstrating familiarity with animal handling techniques.
• Veterinary technician experience with a solid understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy.
• Hands-on experience in veterinary critical care, emergency medicine, or intensive care settings is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in veterinary software systems for record keeping, scheduling, and diagnostic reporting.
• Laboratory experience including phlebotomy, diagnostic testing, and radiology diagnostics enhances your ability to support diverse clinical needs.
• Knowledge of general anesthesia protocols, anesthesiology monitoring, and veterinary surgical assistance is a strong asset.
• Experience working with dogs in training or pet grooming is beneficial for handling various pet temperaments effectively.
• Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining aseptic technique during procedures.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
