Veterinary Technician

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess the necessary skills to assist in providing high-quality veterinary services. You will be working closely with clients and patients alike; people and animal skills are a must. Must be hardworking, dedicated and reliable.

Duties:

• Assist veterinarians in routine examinations, surgeries, and dental procedures.
• Perform laboratory tests such as blood draws, catheter placement, radiographs.
• Administer medications and vaccines under veterinarian supervision.
• Handle and restrain animals during procedures.
• Maintain and record accurate medical records.
• Provide post-operative care and monitoring.
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition as directed by the Veterinarian.

Skills:

The following skills are required:

• Knowledge of pet care practices

• Familiarity with veterinary procedures and terminology

• Ability to handle animal restraint with care and compassion

• Understanding of aseptic techniques for maintaining cleanliness

• Willingness and dedication to learning

• Understanding of animal physiology

• Proficiency in X-ray procedures

• Familiarity with kennel operations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $16.50 per hour

Experience:

• Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
