Veterinary Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries, administering medications, performing laboratory tests, and providing compassionate care to animals and their owners.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
• Perform laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed by veterinarians
• Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
• Monitor animals' vital signs during procedures and recovery
• Provide post-operative care and monitor animals' progress
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
• Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
• Clean and maintain veterinary equipment and instruments

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology preferred
• Certification as a Veterinary Technician is a plus
• Experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting is preferred
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and veterinary critical care
• Proficiency in handling dogs and cats with care and compassion
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
