CHEW Animal Hospital is seeking experienced veterinary technicians (and nurse assistants) to join our growing team. As a nonprofit hospital, we provide affordable veterinary care, advanced diagnostics, and specialty surgeries to families and rescue organizations throughout the DFW community.

What You’ll Do

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Perform blood draws, place IV catheters, and collect and process diagnostic samples.
• Perform laboratory testing and obtain diagnostic-quality radiographs while following safety protocols.
• Prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for surgery using proper aseptic technique.
• Assist with anesthesia and monitor patients during procedures and recovery under veterinarian direction.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, fluids, and treatments as directed by a veterinarian.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the veterinarian.
• Handle and restrain dogs and cats safely, with attention to comfort and stress reduction.
• Provide clear client education about veterinarian-directed treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive care.
• Maintain accurate, timely medical records.
• Follow cleaning, disinfection, and infection-control protocols to keep patient areas and equipment ready for use.
• Communicate clearly with teammates to support safe patient handoffs and efficient hospital operations.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
