Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including dental cleanings, surgical assistance, and diagnostic imaging such as X-ray and radiology diagnostics
• Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety during examinations and treatments
• Conduct laboratory work such as blood draws (phlebotomy), sample processing, and diagnostic testing using veterinary software
• Administer medications, vaccines, and fluids via IV insertion or other routes while monitoring anesthesia during surgeries or critical care cases
• Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infections and ensure patient safety
• Support emergency medicine efforts by providing critical & intensive care, animal catheterization, and vascular access as needed
• Operate medical equipment including radiology machines, anesthesia monitors, and laboratory instruments with precision
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs

Experience

• Previous veterinary technician experience or internship experience in a veterinary setting is required
• Kennel experience with animal husbandry practices is highly valued
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy is essential
• Hands-on experience with anesthesia monitoring, dental terminology, and veterinary surgical assistance is preferred
• Familiarity with veterinary laboratory work, diagnostic radiology, and pet care protocols enhances your candidacy
• Experience handling dogs and other animals safely using proper restraint techniques is necessary
• Proficiency in veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment scheduling is desirable

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
