About This Role

Animal Eye Clinic operates across two facilities; you will be pivotal in maintaining seamless operations and synchronization between our Arlington and Fort Worth locations. In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you will work alongside board-certified ophthalmologists and residents to provide the highest standard of care for our patients. Each technician is responsible for carrying an emergency phone for 1 week out of every 6 weeks, compensated.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care First: Greet clients, obtain patient histories, and provide compassionate care during routine and emergency appointments. Provide detailed discharge instructions and education to pet owners, ensuring clear communication and exceptional service.
• Technical Mastery: Perform patient restraint, obtain and process laboratory samples, obtain vitals, assist in surgical procedures (including anesthesia monitoring), patient recovery, and manage intravenous therapies. Perform advanced diagnostic testing (electroretinogram and ocular ultrasounds), place IV catheters, perform phlebotomy an administer medications and fluid therapy as directed. Maintain sterile conditions and prepare surgery packs.
• Team Player: Collaborate effectively with all levels of hospital team members, , and provide backup phone/front desk support as needed.

About You (The Ideal Candidate)

• Experience: One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred. If no veterinary experience, we require 2 years experience in the medical industry.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and equipment.
• Attributes: An active listener, a supportive team player, and someone who can remain calm under pressure.
• Physical Demands: The ability to lift and carry animals up to 40 lbs independently (assisted for those over 40 lbs), and to stand or walk for extended periods.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
