What they need
Are you a skilled, high-energy Registered Veterinary Technician who loves great medicine, teamwork, and being trusted to actually use your training?
At Hess Ridge Animal Hospital, we are looking for an RVT who is hardworking, positive, compassionate, and excited to be part of a fast-growing private veterinary hospital. We want someone who takes pride in excellent patient care, communicates well with both clients and coworkers, and enjoys being an important part of the medical team.
We value technical ability, but just as importantly, we value attitude, work ethic, reliability, and the ability to help create a fun and supportive workplace.
Who We Are
Hess Ridge Animal Hospital is a locally and privately owned, state-of-the-art veterinary hospital that opened in March 2024. In just over two years, we’ve grown into a thriving 4.5-DVM practice with hundreds of five-star Google reviews from clients who appreciate our compassionate care, communication, and team approach.
We pride ourselves on:
Culture & Growth: An upbeat, supportive workplace where your voice matters and your ideas help shape how we care for patients and clients.
Using Your Skills: We want our technicians practicing at the top of their ability. RVTs are an important part of our medical team, not simply assistants to the doctors.
Fun & Teamwork: Our hospital is full of laughter, music, collaboration, and a team that genuinely enjoys working together.
Work-Life Balance: No weekends. Ever. Enjoy predictable hours and time for your life outside of work.
Private Practice Perks: No corporate scripts or rigid systems — just thoughtful medicine, authentic client relationships, and the ability to improve how we do things.
Modern Medicine: Work in a newer hospital with modern equipment, strong diagnostic capabilities, and a team committed to continued growth and improvement.
What You’ll Do
As an RVT, you’ll play a central role in patient care, procedures, anesthesia, diagnostics, and client communication. Responsibilities include:
- Providing skilled nursing care for hospitalized and outpatient patients.
- Performing venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
- Collecting and processing laboratory samples.
- Obtaining diagnostic radiographs.
- Monitoring anesthesia and managing anesthetic patients from induction through recovery.
- Assisting with surgical and dental procedures.
- Performing dental radiographs and helping with dental cleanings and treatments.
- Administering medications, injections, fluids, and treatments as directed by a veterinarian.
- Calculating medication dosages, fluid rates, and other treatment parameters.
- Maintaining accurate medical records and communicating important patient updates to the medical team.
- Obtaining patient histories and assisting veterinarians during appointments.
- Providing safe, compassionate, and low-stress patient handling.
- Educating clients regarding medications, treatments, preventive care, and discharge instructions.
- Supporting patient flow and helping the hospital stay organized and efficient.
- Helping maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment, surgery, dental, laboratory, and patient-care areas.
- Mentoring veterinary assistants and helping less-experienced team members develop their skills.
- Jumping in wherever needed to support the team and provide excellent patient care.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
Credentialed: Current Registered Veterinary Technician credentialing in Colorado, or eligible to obtain appropriate credentialing.
Technically Strong: Comfortable with core veterinary nursing skills and interested in continuing to expand those abilities.
High-Energy: You bring enthusiasm, positivity, and momentum to a busy hospital.
Hardworking & Reliable: You show up ready to work, follow through, and take pride in doing things well.
Passionate About Patient Care: You advocate for your patients and care about providing thoughtful, compassionate medicine.
Confident but Coachable: You can work independently while remaining open to feedback, new techniques, and continued learning.
Team-Oriented: You communicate well, support your coworkers, and are willing to jump in wherever needed.
Client-Focused: You understand that excellent veterinary medicine also requires excellent communication and helping clients feel comfortable and informed.
Calm Under Pressure: You can remain focused, kind, and professional even when the hospital gets busy.
Detail-Oriented: You understand that accuracy matters, whether you are calculating a drug dose, monitoring anesthesia, entering a medical record, or preparing a patient for a procedure.
