Veterinary Technician

Big Easy Animal Hospital, a privately owned veterinary practice located in Upper Lawrenceville, is looking to hire an EXPERIENCED Veterinary Nurse to join our team. Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and/or surgical procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed.
• Perform diagnostic tests and laboratory work, including blood draws and urinalysis.
• Monitor animal patients pre- and post-operatively to ensure their well-being.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
• Provide education to pet owners regarding animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
• Handle animals safely and compassionately during examinations and treatments.
• Support kennel operations, including cleaning and maintaining animal housing areas.
• Stay informed about veterinary terminology, animal anatomy.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a Veterinary Technician is preferred; 1+ years experience as a Veterinary Technician is required.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and pet grooming techniques.
• Experience with veterinary critical care practices is a plus.
• Strong skills in animal handling and behavior assessment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
