What they need

Animal Welfare Assistance of GA is seeking veterinary assistants or licensed technicians to fill open positions at municipal animal shelters in several counties outside the metro Atlanta area. Previous shelter experience and/or HQHV spay/neuter experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right individuals who come from other areas within the veterinary or animal care realm. Veterinary teams in municipal animal shelters see a highly varied caseload and work with a variety of animals - cats and dogs, poultry, livestock, wildlife and exotics. Two days in a shelter are rarely ever the same! Some holiday and weekend work will be required depending on work location to ensure continuity of care by trained veterinary staff. Typical work weeks are five 8-hour shifts (scheduled as 9 hours with one hour being for lunch) but may vary depending upon need. Competitive pay, access to medical/dental insurance, provided work uniforms and additional uniform stipend, paid training opportunities, paid holidays and paid PTO will be part of the employment package.
