VFFS MACHINE OPERATOR

We are a spice manufacturing and packaging business seeking a reliable, hardworking, and technically minded Form Fill & Seal Machine Operator to join our production team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating packaging machinery to ensure the efficient and accurate packaging of spices and related products.

Experience operating a Vertical Form Fill & Seal (VFFS) machine will be advantageous. Candidates should have a good understanding of packaging processes, filling weights, packaging film changes, and troubleshooting sealing issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor form fill and seal packaging machinery.
• Set up and adjust machine settings to ensure efficient production.
• Adjust filling weights to meet product specifications and quality standards.
• Change packaging film and ensure correct alignment and feeding.
• Troubleshoot sealing issues and make the necessary adjustments to achieve consistent, high-quality seals.
• Monitor product quality, packaging integrity, and filling accuracy.
• Identify machine faults and report technical problems where necessary.
• Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance.
• Minimise product wastage and downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic production environment.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
• Work towards daily production targets while maintaining quality standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience operating packaging machinery.
• Experience in the food manufacturing, spice packaging, or FMCG industry will be advantageous.
• Previous experience operating a Vertical Form Fill & Seal (VFFS) machine will be an added advantage.
• Ability to adjust filling weights and change packaging film.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot sealing problems.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work under pressure.

Pay: R5 500,00 - R6 500,00 per month
