Reporting to: Managing Director (MD)Location: Pune

Role Overview

The Vice President – Strategy will work closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to shape, drive, and execute the company’s strategic agenda.

The role will be responsible for translating the MD’s vision into clear strategic priorities, identifying growth opportunities, driving critical cross-functional initiatives, and establishing a rigorous framework for measuring business performance.

This is a high-impact leadership position requiring a combination of strategic thinking, commercial judgment, analytical rigor, stakeholder management, and execution capability.

Key Responsibilities1. Strategy & Business Planning

· Partner with the MD in defining the company’s short-, medium-, and long-term strategic priorities.

· Lead the annual and long-term strategic planning process.

· Translate strategic objectives into clear initiatives, KPIs, ownership, and execution roadmaps.

· Provide the MD and leadership team with fact-based insights to support key business decisions.

· Continuously evaluate market, industry, customer, and competitive developments.

2. Growth & New Business

· Identify and evaluate opportunities for growth across products, markets, customers, channels, and business models.

· Lead market-entry and expansion assessments.

· Develop business cases and financial models for new initiatives.

· Evaluate strategic partnerships, acquisitions, investments, and other inorganic opportunities.

· Work with business leaders to convert identified opportunities into executable plans.

3. Strategic Initiatives & Execution

· Lead high-priority initiatives identified by the MD and leadership team.

· Drive cross-functional projects that span multiple business units or functions.

· Establish clear milestones, owners, governance, and accountability.

· Monitor execution and proactively identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks.

· Ensure strategic initiatives translate into measurable business outcomes.

4. Commercial & Financial Strategy

· Partner with Finance to evaluate investments, resource allocation, and business cases.

· Conduct scenario analysis and financial modelling for major strategic decisions.

· Assess profitability, scalability, and commercial viability of strategic initiatives.

· Support the MD in evaluating major capital and resource-allocation decisions.

5. Market & Competitive Intelligence

· Develop a strong understanding of industry trends, competitors, customer needs, and emerging opportunities.

· Provide regular strategic insights to the MD and leadership team.

· Identify potential disruptions and opportunities that could materially impact the business.

· Build frameworks for evaluating competitive positioning and strategic options.

6. Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment

· Work closely with all the departments.

· Build alignment around enterprise priorities.

· Influence senior stakeholders and drive accountability without relying solely on formal authority.

· Lead cross-functional teams on complex strategic initiatives.

· Facilitate structured decision-making across the leadership team.

7. MD & Board Support

· Act as a trusted strategic partner to the MD.

· Prepare strategic analyses, recommendations, presentations, and decision documents for the MD.

· Support preparation for Board and senior leadership meetings.

· Track and follow through on key decisions and strategic commitments.

Candidate ProfileExperience

· 12–18+ years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, business leadership, investment banking, private equity, or related fields.

· Proven experience working with MDs, CEOs, founders, Boards, or senior executive teams.

· Demonstrated experience leading strategic initiatives from formulation through execution.

· Experience in a high-growth, entrepreneurial, diversified, or complex organization preferred.

· Exposure to M&A, partnerships, market expansion, transformation, or new business development is an advantage.

Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹95,000.00 per month
