Video Editor & AI Content Creator

Job Summary

Our client is a growing digital content business helping brands, businesses, founders and personal brands build a stronger presence through content and social media. They are looking for a Video Editor & AI Content Creator who understands social media, storytelling and audience retention (hook, story, pace, retention, emotion and call to action) to transform raw footage, interviews, client shoots and AI-generated materials into engaging short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts, Xiaohongshu (RED) and digital advertisements. This is not simply a video-cutting role.

Key Responsibilities

– Edit short-form social media videos of approximately 15 to 90 seconds, selecting the strongest takes and creating strong openings.

– Improve hooks, pacing, flow and storytelling, removing unnecessary sections and adding pattern interrupts to maximise viewer retention.

– Add B-roll, motion graphics, sound effects, music and visual elements where appropriate.

– Create clean, engaging subtitles that highlight key words and messages.

– Follow brand colours, fonts and visual guidelines, maintaining consistent quality across client accounts.

– Produce content using AI-generated video, images, avatars, voiceovers and AI-assisted editing tools as projects require.

– Repurpose long-form footage and winning content into multiple short-form versions, platform formats and advertising variations.

– Assist with production, including smartphone and camera filming, basic lighting, audio recording and client shoots.

– Proactively suggest creative improvements rather than simply following editing instructions.

Requirements

– Previous video editing experience with a strong short-form video portfolio; fresh graduates with a strong portfolio are welcome to apply.

– Comfortable using at least one of Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut Desktop.

– Understanding of TikTok and Instagram editing styles, pacing and viewer retention.

– Good sense of music, timing and storytelling, with close attention to subtitles, typography and visual presentation.

– Able to work quickly without sacrificing quality and manage multiple projects to deadlines.

– Receptive to feedback and able to implement revisions efficiently.

– Interested in AI-powered video production and willing to experiment, learn quickly and adapt to new tools.

– Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.

Added Advantages

– Experience with After Effects, Photoshop, Canva, AI video or AI image generation tools.

– Professional video shooting with mirrorless or DSLR cameras, or quality smartphone content production.

– Motion graphics, colour grading and editing performance-driven advertisements.

– Understanding of Chinese-language content.

REMUNERATION PACKAGES:

Basic Salary: RM3,500 to RM4,500 (depending on experience, portfolio strength, editing ability, speed and additional production skills)

KPI performance bonus (based on output, quality, speed, on-time delivery, retention and content performance)

EPF, SOCSO & EIS

Primarily on-site at WORQ Bandar Utama; occasional client shoots and external production activities

Working Days: 5 days (Monday to Friday)

Working Hours: 9.00am to 6.00pm
