Video Editor & Content Support – Virtual Assistant (AU Client)

Role Overview

Responsible for professional short-form video editing and content support for a Melbourne-based video agency. 70%+ of the role is dedicated to video editing, with additional responsibilities across content creation, digital marketing, AI-assisted workflows, and general business support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Short-Form Video Editing – Core Responsibility (70%+)

• Edit vertical short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
• Apply strong pacing, cut rhythm, hooks, storytelling and retention techniques.
• Add accurate captions/subtitles, text overlays, motion, sound effects, music and basic colour correction.
• Follow and consistently apply the client's documented house style.
• Produce approximately 10–15 videos per week while maintaining a high professional standard.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure clean edits, accurate captions and no errors.
• Incorporate feedback and revisions efficiently.

2. Content & Creative Support

• Create simple posters, thumbnails, graphics and carousels.
• Assist with captions, hooks, CTAs and hashtags.
• Perform basic photo editing.
• Assist with social media scheduling, publishing, comments and DMs.

3. AI & Technology

• Use AI tools to support content production and creative workflows.
• Work with Claude AI, VS Code and Remotion after training.
• Develop effective AI prompts and workflows.
• Learn and adapt quickly to new software and technology.
• Coding experience is not required.

4. Marketing & Business Support

• Assist with cold outreach emails and follow-ups.
• Support Meta Ads setup and management.
• Build lead lists and conduct online research.
• Update CRM records and assist with scheduling.
• Provide basic invoicing and administrative support.
• Manage files across Google Drive and Dropbox.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong professional experience in short-form video editing.
• Proficiency in CapCut and/or Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Strong understanding of short-form content, hooks, pacing, retention and trends.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong attention to detail and visual quality.
• Graphic design and basic photo editing skills are advantageous.
• Experience with social media platforms and digital marketing is advantageous.
• Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
• Tech-savvy and able to quickly learn new tools and workflows.
