Video Editor

Role Summary:

Responsible for editing and producing high-end video content, including short films, documentary-style films, TVCs, music videos, awareness/promotional campaign films and dynamic image cards, carrying each project from raw footage or concept through to a polished, broadcast/publish-ready final cut

Key Responsibilities:

• Edit and post-produce short films, documentaries, TVCs, music videos and awareness/promotional campaign films from concept to final delivery
• Work from scripts, storyboards and shot lists to build a strong narrative structure and pacing suited to each format
• Create dynamic image cards and animated carousels (kinetic typography, animated stills, subtle transitions) for digital and social use
• Design and animate motion graphics: title sequences, lower-thirds, animated logos, and data/infographic visualizations
• Handle multi-camera editing, sound design, background score curation and sync, voiceover integration and audio mixing
• Execute professional color grading and correction to establish a distinct visual tone appropriate to each project
• Organize, sync and archive raw footage across large, multi-day, multi-camera shoots
• Produce format variants from a single body of footage (full-length cut, TV/broadcast cut, social cutdowns, teaser/trailer cuts)
• Ensure bilingual (Bengali and English) subtitle/caption accuracy and correct technical specs (aspect ratio, loudness, codec) for each delivery platform
• Use AI video tools for rough-cut assembly, auto-transcription, noise cleanup, and reframing, while retaining full creative and editorial control over final cuts
• Collaborate closely with directors, scriptwriters and graphic designers from concept through final delivery
• Deliver polished, broadcast/publish-ready output within tight production timelines, including overnight turnarounds when required

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree/diploma in Mass Communication, Animation, or a related field
• 3-6 years of relevant experience, with a background in films, TVC production, music videos, or a production house/agency strongly preferred
• A strong showreel demonstrating range across short films or documentaries, TVCs or music videos and campaign/awareness films (not just social media cutdowns)

Core Skills & Competencies:

• Strong directorial and storytelling instinct: pacing, rhythm, narrative structure across formats including motion graphics
• Advanced sound design and color grading capability
• Ability to conceptualize and execute dynamic image cards and motion graphics independently
• Composure and speed under pressure with skills of same-day and overnight deliverables must
• Disciplined file and version management across large, concurrent, multi-format projects
• Competency mandatory in Software and editing tools like Final Cut Pro and others
• Mandatory AI tool competency like Google LAB (Flow), VEO 3 among others

Mandatory Conditions of Engagement:

• Must have an own fully-equipped work setup, sufficient for professional editing work delivered remotely or on-site
• Must be available for work beyond scheduled office hours, including weekends and holidays, whenever required, since production and campaign deadlines often demand same-day or overnight turnaround
• Must be able to consistently deliver polished, broadcast/publish-ready video output within very constrained production timelines, including overnight turnarounds for time-sensitive campaigns and launches
