Position: Video Editor

Full time, 12-month renewable contract

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor to join our team. You will be responsible for turning raw footage into engaging, high-quality video content – including both short social media videos and long-form features – that tells news stories effectively and aligns with our editorial policy and perspective. This role requires strong storytelling skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced news environment.

ABOUT YOU

1. Bachelor's degree or above.
2. Excellent English communication and writing skills; proficiency in Chinese or other languages is a plus.
3. Minimum 3 years of video editing experience in news media or content platforms; Candidates with integrated experience at international media outlets and a track record of producing social media videos with high view counts and engagement (likes, comments, and shares) are preferred.
4. Proficient in mainstream editing software such as Final Cut Pro, AE or Motion, with excellent command of video pacing and digital storytelling skills. Familiarity with Premiere is a plus.
5. Able to creatively process and visually optimize general news or breaking news footage to enhance video appeal and communication effectiveness. Experience in AI-assisted video creation is a plus.
6. Knowledgeable about content styles and communication rules of major social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, X, Instagram etc.
7. Basic understanding of Chinese society, economy and culture, with willingness to deepen such knowledge. Strong teamwork and cross-cultural communication skills.
