Video Editor

CARL’S is a new food brand preparing to launch in the United States. We are building our Auckland team and looking for a Video Editor to create compelling advertising that captures attention and drives purchases.

You will turn creator footage, product content and scripts into video ads, working closely with our Performance Creative Lead, UGC and Influencer Manager, and Head of Meta.

The role

We need someone with strong editing instincts who understands how to make an opening count, keep a story moving and communicate a clear reason to buy.

You will edit original ads, develop variations for testing and improve promising concepts using performance feedback. You should enjoy producing work regularly, taking ownership of deadlines and finding better ways to tell the story.

What you will own

• Edit UGC, product demonstrations, testimonials and other video content for paid social advertising.
• Turn scripts and creative briefs into clear, persuasive videos with strong hooks, pacing and calls to action.
• Select the strongest moments from raw footage and identify where additional shots would improve the edit.
• Create variations of openings, sequences, messaging and endings to support structured testing.
• Add captions, graphics, sound design and music that strengthen the message.
• Apply colour correction and audio clean-up to deliver consistent quality.
• Adapt videos for different placements, aspect ratios and lengths, checking crops and text positioning.
• Work with the Performance Creative Lead to review drafts, respond to feedback and meet production deadlines.
• Use feedback from our Head of Meta to improve edits and develop further versions of successful ads.
• Maintain an organised library of footage, project files and approved exports.
• Check every final asset for spelling, product details, audio quality and export accuracy.

What you will bring

• A strong portfolio of short-form advertising, UGC or ecommerce video editing.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or an equivalent professional editing tool.
• Strong storytelling, pacing, sound and colour correction skills.
• Confidence creating captions and basic motion graphics; After Effects experience would be valuable.
• An understanding of how video creative supports customer acquisition.
• The ability to produce a consistent volume of work while maintaining quality and version control.
• Good communication and the confidence to suggest improvements to a brief or edit.
• Experience with food content or advertising for US audiences would be valuable.

Your first 90 days

You will establish an efficient editing workflow, organise our footage library and help build the video assets needed for launch.

You will develop a dependable production rhythm, deliver purposeful variations for testing and use performance feedback to strengthen subsequent edits.

Success will be measured through the quality and reliability of your output, turnaround times and how effectively you apply what the team learns.
