Role & responsibilities

Edit high-quality Instagram Reels and short-form videos

• Edit YouTube long-form videos
• Edit video ads and promotional creatives
• Convert raw footage into engaging, fast-paced content
• Create strong opening hooks and scroll-stopping first few seconds
• Use captions, graphics, B-roll, sound effects and transitions effectively
• Understand and improve viewer retention and watch time
• Repurpose long-form content into Reels/Shorts when required
• Follow current Instagram and YouTube editing trends
• Research viral content and editing formats within relevant niches
• Suggest creative improvements instead of only following instructions
• Maintain consistent brand style across content
• Manage multiple editing requirements and meet deadlines consistently

Preferred candidate profile

Proven experience editing Instagram Reels

• Strong portfolio of previously edited short-form content
• Experience editing YouTube long-form content
• Experience editing digital/video ads
• Good understanding of the Instagram and YouTube content ecosystem
• Understanding of hooks, retention, pacing and storytelling
• Awareness of current trends, viral formats and platform best practices
• Ability to identify why certain videos perform better than others
• Strong command of professional video-editing software
• Good understanding of subtitles, motion graphics, B-roll, music and sound design
• Ability to work independently and deliver consistently

Performance & Social Media Understanding

The ideal candidate should understand that successful editing is not just about making a video look good.

You should understand concepts such as:

You should be able to study successful Reels and YouTube videos, identify patterns that are working, and incorporate relevant trends and editing techniques into our content.
