Video Editor

We’re looking for an experienced video editor to join our team in High Point. You’ll work closely with our directors and producers on podcasts, commercial video, interviews, and social content, taking projects from the first assembly through final delivery.

Podcast production will be a major part of this role. We need someone who can shape a full episode, make the conversation flow, get the audio right, and find the moments that work as short clips. You’ll also help produce and edit social content for our clients and JDDS.

What you’ll do

• Edit video podcasts and interviews, including multicamera syncing, dialogue cleanup, pacing, and final audio mixes.
• Create social cutdowns from longer projects and help plan and edit original social content, including behind-the-scenes pieces.
• Edit commercial videos, brand films, and promotional content with the client’s audience and goals in mind.
• Handle color correction, music, captions, titles, and basic graphics. Prepare exports for the required platforms and aspect ratios.
• Work with our creative and production team on edit direction, revisions, and delivery schedules. Flag questions or missing material early.
• Keep media and project files organized. Follow our naming, backup, and archive procedures so another editor can pick up a project.
• Help improve our post-production workflow as our video and podcast work grows.

Experience we’re looking for

• Ideally 3–5 years of professional video editing experience, with a portfolio that shows your work.
• Strong working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Experience with both long-form editing and short-form social content.
• Comfort with multicamera footage, interviews, audio cleanup, and basic color correction.
• A good ear for dialogue and music, and a clear sense of what to keep, what to cut, and when to let a moment breathe.

How you work

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of an edit, brings ideas, and is comfortable talking through feedback. You should be able to manage several projects, keep track of revisions, and communicate clearly about deadlines.

The work changes from project to project. Some days you’ll be in a full podcast episode; others, a commercial edit or a series of social clips. We need someone who understands how the approach changes with the format and can keep the quality consistent.

Helpful additional skills

• Podcast production experience, including supporting recording sessions.
• Motion graphics in After Effects, advanced color work in Resolve, or audio editing in Audition.
• YouTube production and an understanding of social hooks, captions, and platform-specific pacing.
• Camera operation, photography, or experience creating content on set.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted editing tools.

Johnny Davis Digital Solutions is a creative production company based in High Point, North Carolina. We partner with brands on commercial photography, video, and content, working both in the studio and on location.

Our team is involved from planning through final delivery. We care about the details, solve problems together, and want the finished work to reflect the care that went into the shoot. This editor will be an integral part of that team as we continue to grow our video and podcast production.

Schedule and location

This is a in-house position in High Point, NC. You’ll work on-site with our production team. Some schedule flexibility may be needed around shoots and client deadlines.
