Silver Blue Studio is a Chennai-based video production studio creating story-driven films for brands, businesses, founders, and individuals.

Our projects include documentary films, founder stories, wedding films, corporate videos, event highlight films, commercial videos, and storytelling-driven social media content.

We believe editing is more than assembling clips. It is about finding the story, choosing the right visuals and music, and creating films that connect with audiences.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Video Editor who is interested in storytelling, documentary filmmaking, and commercial editing.

You will work across different genres of filmmaking, develop first cuts independently, and collaborate with the Founder / Creative Director to refine each film according to its creative vision.

This is an opportunity to strengthen your editing skills, explore different filmmaking styles, and grow as a well-rounded editor.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit documentary films, founder stories, brand films, and interview-driven content.
• Edit wedding films, corporate videos, event highlights, testimonials, and commercial videos.
• Create storytelling-driven social media content beyond basic talking-head edits.
• Identify strong moments from raw footage and develop compelling narratives.
• Select music that supports the film's emotion, mood, and pacing.
• Use B-roll, dialogue, natural sound, and sound design effectively.
• Handle multicamera editing, basic colour correction, audio cleanup, titles, and subtitles.
• Develop the first cut independently and incorporate creative feedback.
• Manage revisions and deliver projects within agreed timelines.

Required Skills

• 1–3 years of video editing experience with a strong portfolio.
• Genuine interest in documentary storytelling and filmmaking.
• Good understanding of narrative structure, pacing, and emotional storytelling.
• Strong music selection skills and an understanding of how music enhances a film.
• Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve; Adobe Premiere Pro experience is also acceptable.
• Familiarity with 4K footage, multicamera editing, and basic colour correction.
• Ability to work independently, accept feedback, and take ownership of projects.

A formal degree is not mandatory. We value your portfolio, creative thinking, storytelling instincts, and willingness to learn.

Salary & Probation

The salary will be ₹15,000–₹25,000 per month, depending on skills and experience.

The first three months will be a probation period. Performance will be reviewed based on editing quality, storytelling, music selection, reliability, and timely project delivery. Salary growth may be considered based on performance.

Working Hours & Benefits

• Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
• Sunday: Weekly off
• Paid leave: 1 day per month
• Work mode: Full-time, in-house at Chennai office
• Equipment: Workstation and required editing software provided.

Occasional flexibility may be required to meet important project deadlines.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will attend an in-person interview at our Chennai office and complete a mandatory, editing assessment lasting approximately half a day.

The assessment involves creating a one-minute video using footage and a brief provided by Silver Blue Studio. It is for evaluation purposes only and is not an actual client deliverable.

Candidates will be evaluated on storytelling, music selection, creative decisions, and editing quality.
