Job summary

We are looking for an experienced and creative Video Editor to work with a content creator with an audience of over 120,000 followers on Instagram. The role can be fully remote, although candidates based in Ibadan are preferred.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

• Turning raw footage into polished and engaging content
• Selecting the best footage, audio, and supporting media
• Adding subtitles, captions, music, sound effects, graphics, and B-roll
• Improving colour, lighting and audio quality
• Adapting content for different platforms and formats
• Making revisions based on feedback
• Organising project files and media assets
• Ensuring videos are ready for publication
• Occasionally assisting with filming if based locally

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of professional video editing experience
• Strong experience editing Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Facebook content
• Experience editing long-form YouTube videos, vlogs, podcasts and interviews
• Strong understanding of storytelling, hooks, pacing, and audience retention
• Good sense of subtitles, captions, music, sound effects, B-roll and transitions
• Strong colour correction and audio-cleaning skills
• Ability to select the strongest moments from raw footage
• Ability to work independently without needing step-by-step instructions
• Good understanding of current social media trends and editing styles
• Strong organisation and ability to meet deadlines
