Video Editor Intern

About the Role

We're an EdTech company on a mission to make learning more accessible and engaging, and we're looking for a video-savvy, trend-obsessed Social Media Intern to help bring that mission to life online. You'll play a key role in creating short-form video content that makes learning feel exciting, shareable, and relevant - while keeping our brand at the leading edge of platform trends.

Responsibilities

• Strategise and edit short-form video content (Reels, YouTube Shorts) that simplifies educational concepts or highlights product features in a fun, digestible way
• Stay on top of emerging trends, sounds, formats, and memes - and quickly adapt them to fit our brand and audience (students, educators, or parents)
• Draft engaging captions, hooks, and scripts tailored to each platform's algorithm and audience behavior
• Collaborate with the marketing team to turn educational content (courses, webinars, product features) into snackable video content
• Manage the content calendar and posting schedule across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn
• Monitor comments, DMs, and mentions; engage with our community authentically
• Track video performance (views, watch time, shares, saves) and report on what's resonating
• Support occasional filming at events, campus visits, or with student/educator ambassadors

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in any field, preferably Marketing, Communications, Media Production, Education, or related field
• Strong video editing skills
  • proficiency in CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar tools
• Demonstrated understanding of short-form video best practices (pacing, hooks, captions, trending audio)
• A finger on the pulse of social media trends
  • you're the person your friends ask "wait, what's that sound from?"
• Strong writing skills with the ability to make educational content feel fun and accessible
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple content pieces/deadlines at once

Nice to Have

• A personal or side project account (TikTok/Instagram) with organic growth or engagement to show
• Experience with basic motion graphics or animation (CapCut templates, After Effects, Canva)
• Familiarity with analytics tools (TikTok Analytics, YouTube Studio, Meta Business Suite)
• Interest in or experience with educational content creation (tutoring, teaching, content for students)
