Video Editor — Interview Content

We’re looking for a thoughtful, highly creative Video Editor who can turn interviews and human stories into compelling content for social media.

This role goes beyond technical editing. You should have a strong understanding of people—what makes someone interesting, what creates emotion and connection, and which moments will make an audience pause, think, or share. You’ll identify the strongest ideas within long-form conversations and shape them into engaging short- and long-form videos.

What you’ll do

• Edit interview-led content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other social platforms
• Find powerful stories, insights and emotional moments within raw interview footage
• Turn long-form conversations into concise, engaging short-form videos
• Create strong openings, pacing and narrative flow that hold viewers’ attention
• Add subtitles, music, sound design, motion graphics and visual elements where appropriate
• Adapt edits to suit the language, rhythm and audience behaviour of each platform
• Collaborate on creative concepts and continuously improve content using performance insights
• Maintain a consistent and polished visual style across all content

What we’re looking for

• Strong video-editing skills and a portfolio demonstrating excellent storytelling
• Experience editing interviews, documentaries, podcasts or personality-led content
• Deep insight into people, emotions and human behaviour
• An accurate understanding of social-media culture, audience psychology and emerging content formats
• Excellent judgement when selecting moments that are meaningful, memorable or highly shareable
• Strong sense of pacing, composition, typography, colour and sound
• Ability to work independently, receive feedback and deliver consistently
• Proficiency in professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro

Preferred

• A background in graphic design, visual communication or motion design
• Experience creating high-performing organic social-media content
• Skills in After Effects, animation, colour grading or audio enhancement
• An interest in people, culture, psychology and contemporary social behaviour

Pay: R6 635,17 - R26 183,45 per month
