Video Editor (Story-led)

Anyone can cut footage to length. We want someone who can find the story in it.

The Lyceum Clinic is a mental health practice in West London building a YouTube channel and short-form library about how people really think, feel and cope. Our filmmaker and clinicians bring back hours of interviews and b-roll. Your placement is turning that into pieces people watch to the end.

What you will do

• Edit long-form YouTube pieces, vertical Shorts and LinkedIn video from interview and documentary footage.
• Make pacing, sound, captions and simple graphics serve the story rather than decorate it.
• Cut one shoot into several pieces so nothing good is wasted.
• Keep the library tidy: file names, versions, backups and a simple tracker.

You might be right for this if

• You have edited something that made someone feel something. Send links.
• You work in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut or CapCut and can explain your cuts.
• You care about sound as much as picture.
• You can turn a round of feedback into a better cut without losing the idea.

Likely courses: BA Film Production, Post-Production, Media Production, Digital Media, Animation and VFX, Creative Media; Level 3 or T Level Creative Media Production at college.

What you get

• Fully remote with two short check-ins a week and a named placement lead.
• Software licences where needed. Published work for your showreel. A written reference and placement reports in your institution's format.
• Agreed expenses reimbursed.

Good to know: no access to client information. Everything is approved by our Clinical Director before publication.
