About the Role

SocialChaat is looking for a Video Editor who can craft tight, punchy, high-converting edits across UGC, explainers, skits, raw formats, and whatever content performs best. We edit daily not occasionally — and we edit for performance, not just polish. The ideal candidate understands storytelling, respects pacing, and knows how to turn raw footage into content that moves product, sparks reactions, and stops scrolls.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Edit videos and static content that perform, not just fill space
• Elevate scripts through smarter visuals, tighter story arcs, and precise timing
• Approach editing with both a storyteller's instinct and a marketer's mindset
• Collaborate closely with writers, directors, DOPs, actors, and producers in a fast-moving, low-bureaucracy environment
• Apply ad structure principles to every cut, understanding the "why" behind each scene
• Continuously test, learn, and iterate based on real performance data (ROAS)

• Strong instinct for story arcs — can identify one or build one from scratch
• Sharp sense of pacing — recognizes a dragging scene and cuts decisively
• Solid understanding of ad structure and the reasoning behind each scene
• Obsessive attention to hooks — treats the first 3 seconds as critical
• Skilled with pacing, VO timing, music selection, and scroll-stopping moments
• Able to visually improve a script through smart editing choices
• Takes feedback constructively while staying driven by performance metrics
• Self-motivated, proactive, and always looking to improve
