Video Engineer

We're seeking a Video Engineer to help build and optimize a high-quality OTT streaming platform across web, mobile, smart TVs, and connected devices. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in video delivery, playback optimization, DRM, and streaming technology, and enjoys solving complex challenges across diverse device ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage video encoding, packaging, and content delivery workflows.
• Support and optimize HLS, DASH, CMAF, and adaptive bitrate streaming solutions.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and support DRM technologies including Widevine, PlayReady, and FairPlay.
• Improve CDN performance, caching strategies, token authentication, and streaming reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve playback issues across smart TVs, Roku, Fire TV, browsers, and other connected devices.
• Implement and maintain closed captions, accessibility features, thumbnails, and trick-play functionality.
• Collaborate on ad-supported streaming initiatives, including VAST, VMAP, SSAI, and ad delivery workflows.
• Build automation, testing, and monitoring solutions to improve streaming quality and platform reliability.
• Leverage analytics and telemetry tools to proactively identify and resolve viewer experience issues.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in OTT, streaming video, media, or broadcast engineering.
• Strong expertise with H.264, HEVC, ABR encoding, HLS, DASH, CMAF, and fMP4.
• Hands-on experience with at least one DRM platform (Widevine, PlayReady, or FairPlay).
• Experience with video players such as HLS.js and/or DASH.js .
• Knowledge of CDN technologies, caching, token authentication, and content delivery optimization.
• Proficiency with FFmpeg, MediaInfo, Shaka Packager, Bento4, or similar video tools.
• Scripting experience with Python, Node.js, or Bash.
• Experience troubleshooting playback issues across browsers, streaming devices, and smart TV platforms.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
