Job Overview:

As a Game Advisor, where strong product knowledge and guest service come together to create an engaging shopping experience. In this role, you’ll assist customers by providing knowledgeable recommendations, demonstrating products, and helping customers find the right games, consoles, and accessories for their needs. This paid position offers an opportunity to grow retail skills while working in a fast-paced, gaming-focused environment.

The primary objective of this role is to support overall store performance while ensuring every guest leaves informed and satisfied with their purchase.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with selecting video games, consoles, accessories, and related products based on their preferences and needs
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on game genres, platforms, compatibility, and accessories
• Demonstrate products and explain features and benefits when applicable
• Process customer transactions accurately using a POS system, including cash handling and basic math
• Upsell products and accessories when appropriate
• Maintain clean, organized merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked
• Testing customers trade-ins
• Cleaning and organizing trade-ins
• Answer phone inquiries professionally and provide clear, helpful information
• Support daily store operations and maintain a clean, organized sales floor

Location and Availability

• Cape Coral (open seven days a week)

Store Hours

• Cape Coral: Monday–Saturday, 11 AM–8 PM; Sunday, 11 AM–6 PM

Weekend availability is required (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
Reliable transportation is required.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with state-required proof of age
• High school diploma or GED required
• At least one year of retail sales or guest service experience preferred
• Knowledge of video games, consoles, and accessories
• Ability to work independently and navigate the store unassisted
• Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, reaching, climbing ladders, and lifting merchandise up to 30 lbs

Job Skills and Abilities

• Strong guest service and communication skills
• Effective written and verbal communication in English
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced retail environment
• Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math
• Understanding of alphabetization and merchandising organization
• Strong self-motivation and teamwork skills
• Sound problem-solving abilities and judgment
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions
• Consistent adherence to company policies, including attendance, confidentiality, and ethical responsibilities
• Supervisory experience is a plus for future growth opportunities

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
