What they need
Product Video Production Assistant
Part-Time | Approximately 12 Hours/Week to Start | $15.00/Hour
We are looking for a reliable, efficient, and personable Product Video Production Assistant to help us significantly increase our production of short-form product demonstration videos.
This is an in-person, high-volume content production position. The filming environment and equipment will already be set up and ready to use.
The focus of this role is simple: prepare the day's products, move efficiently through the production lineup, and produce as much quality content as possible during each production session.
Pay & Schedule
- $15.00 per hour
- Approximately 12 hours per week to start, with hours to increase upto 40 hours over time
- Part-time to Start
- In-person
- Opportunity for additional hours as production needs grow
TYPICAL PRODUCTION DAY
At the beginning of each production session, you will:
- Open the products scheduled for that day's production
- Remove necessary packaging
- Quickly inspect and familiarize yourself with each product
- Arrange products in an organized production line
- Begin filming and work through the lineup efficiently
The majority of your shift will be dedicated to actual video production.
Depending on the product, this may include:
- Filming short product demonstrations
- Showing how a product works
- Capturing important product details and features
- Recording close-up or supplemental footage
- Occasionally appearing on camera to hold, wear, use, or demonstrate a product
- Following established content guidelines
- Re-recording a video when necessary
- Keeping completed products separate and organized for their next destination
PRODUCTION GOALS
This is a high-volume production role, not traditional cinematic videography.
Once fully trained and familiar with the workflow, the goal is to work toward approximately 30–40+ completed product videos during a focused four-hour production block, depending on product complexity.
We are looking for someone who can maintain quality without unnecessarily overcomplicating production.
End-of-Session Cleanup
Approximately 20 minutes at the end of each production session will be reserved for cleanup and organization.
During this time, you will:
- Break down empty cardboard boxes
- Gather and dispose of packaging and production waste
- Take garbage/recycling to the designated outdoor pails
- Sort completed products/materials into designated boxes for disbursement
- Leave the production area organized and ready for the next session
Occasional On-Camera Participation
This is not primarily an on-camera position. However, depending on the product, you may occasionally be asked to appear in a video to demonstrate, hold, wear, or use an item.
Applicants should therefore be comfortable with occasional on-camera participation.
Photography, Video, Likeness & Content Rights
Because this position involves the creation of commercial content and may include occasional on-camera appearances, employment will require signing appropriate photography/video, image and likeness, and intellectual-property/copyright agreements.
These agreements will address permission to record the employee when necessary, use of the employee's image, voice, and likeness in applicable business content, and ownership/assignment of applicable rights in content created within the scope of the position.
Applicants will have an opportunity to review the applicable agreements before signing.
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and punctual
- Organized and efficient
- Comfortable working at a steady production pace
- Able to quickly understand different consumer products
- Comfortable using basic video-production equipment
- Able to follow an established production system
- Detail-oriented without overcomplicating simple tasks
- Comfortable occasionally appearing on camera
- Able to work independently once trained
- Interested in helping improve production efficiency
Growth Opportunity
The position will begin at approximately 12 hours per week. Additional hours and responsibilities may become available as production volume grows.
For the right person, there is potential to grow into a larger content production or content management position.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: Approximately 12 hours per week to start
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 per week
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
Work Location: In person
