Vietnamese Restaurant Service Associate

Job Summary

Mai's Restaurant is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Vietnamese Restaurant Service Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with daily restaurant operations, provide attentive service to guests, support food and beverage service, and maintain clean and organized dining areas. This role requires a positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment while helping create a welcoming dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide courteous, professional customer service.
• Assist guests with menus, answer general questions about Vietnamese dishes, and communicate special requests to the appropriate team members.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to kitchen staff.
• Serve meals and beverages promptly while ensuring order accuracy.
• Check on guests during their meals and respond to additional requests in a timely manner.
• Communicate dietary requirements and food allergy concerns clearly to kitchen staff.
• Prepare dining tables, arrange utensils and napkins, and organize service stations.
• Clear used dishes, clean tables, and reset dining areas for incoming guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout dining rooms, service stations, and assigned work areas.
• Replenish condiments, utensils, napkins, and other restaurant supplies as needed.
• Assist with packaging takeout orders and verifying order accuracy when required.
• Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation or other service-related tasks as assigned.
• Follow proper food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Coordinate with servers, cooks, hosts, and supervisors to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and refer complex issues to management.
• Assist with opening, closing, and other daily duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, food service, or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Friendly, professional, and helpful attitude.
• Ability to work cooperatively with a team.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm during busy service periods.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is an advantage.
• Interest in Vietnamese cuisine and restaurant hospitality is beneficial.
• Flexible availability for weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform routine restaurant duties.

Work Environment

This position operates in a busy Vietnamese restaurant setting where teamwork, cleanliness, efficient service, and guest satisfaction are essential. The Restaurant Service Associate will work closely with front-of-house and kitchen staff to maintain service standards and help ensure guests enjoy a positive dining experience.
