Links Winery is a family-owned and operated wine business based in Hawkes Bay. We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to step up and join our small team as an operator to assist the Vineyard Manager.

About the role

The position is to work under the Vineyard Manager and alongside other team members, moving between the Bridge Pa and Kereru Road vineyards, Links Road, and a new development at Pukehamoamoa. As this is a hand-on role it will suit someone with prior experience. There is a large degree of autonomy in this role, and you would need to be self-motivating and have the ability to work unsupervised to meet deadlines and get the job done. You would need flexibility and a willingness to work the sometimes long and unusual hours required during busy parts of the season to make a good contribution to a successful vineyard operation.

Key responsibilities

• Operating and caring for vineyard machinery and equipment
• Sprayer set-up, operation, appropriate use and handling of vineyard chemicals
• Grape vine husbandry
• Trellis & irrigation maintenance
• Instructing and supervising contract labour (prior experience would be an advantage)

About you

• Prior experience as a vineyard operator
• Knowledge and experience in grape growing
• Strong practical ability
• Can-do attitude and willingness to learn
• Have a Grow Safe Certificate
• Able to perform work with a high attention to detail
• High level of professionalism
• A team player
• Have good communication skills
• Legally permitted to work in NZ, either a Citizen or Resident
• Have a full driver license and your own transport
